Discussions and Drop Box Guide

It is important that you regularly post discussions and upload assignments into the dropbox within D2l Brightspace. This participation is how attendance is captured. There are different ways to post and contribute to your classes:

Posting a Discussion

Throughout your online courses, the main way in which you will communicate with other students is through discussions.  These are often graded assignments that you must participate in.  Below is a walk-through of posting a discussion.

In some courses, there are a special type of discussion, called NAUXChange.  For a walk-through of those, click here.

DISCUSSION REQUIREMENT:  National American University requires all students to post their initial discussion thread no later than 11:59 p.m. MT on Thursday of the week in which the discussion is due.  Replies to at least two classmates must be posted by 11:59 p.m. MT on the Sunday the discussion is due.  Students must also understand the required Discussion Rubric which you can find here. Please contact your instructor, if you have any questions.

Drobox

Many of your assignments will need to be submitted to a dropbox in the course. Below is a guide to provide assistance in doing this.

VoiceThread

Some courses have VoiceThreads which are interactive assignments where you will view a presentation, then add content of your own, and then comment on content added by other students.  Below, you will find a walk through and a list of frequently asked questions regarding VoiceThreads.

You can also find a video walk through here.
If you are using a mobile device, you can find instructions on getting the mobile app here.

For VoiceThread to work, you have to have Flash installed and enabled.  For more information on Flash, please check here.
